Thread: I need TPG help!

So with the new year right around the corner and my desktop computer all awesome now, I have decided that if i get a christmas bonus this year or enough money from family i can gonna buy a laptop come the first of the year. Thats where i need your help and advice. So i want a laptop that I can use for work/school and yet take to the Intel Lanfest and be able to game on with games like bf2, tf2 and bc2. But also I have a budget, as most of you know I am a pretty broke girl but have had the luck of winning stuff and great friends who help make my desktop the computer it is today. I looking to spend at most 700... perfer in the 500 range but if i get the xmas bonus can go as high as 700 and still pay off some debts.

I was thinking possibly the....ASUS G71GX-RX05

But i want other ideas and options.... so please post them up.

I am Gaming on a 2008 Compaq Presario, 2gb ram, 512mghz, Integrated Video Card, 150 gbs HD. Run Windows VIsta 32big SP2 --- Its Not a Bad Laptop at all, I do my business work on there, my classes and my gaming from BF2 - BF2:PR - MoHAA, MOH:SH, MOH:BT and MOH:PA and the big doozy of EverQuest, and I have an SNES Emulator on it with over 150+ Games and Also Various Other Steam Games heh.

Also comes with 3 USB+ Ports - Has Decent Battery Power and Wiresless Assistant to easily connect to any Wireless Network, Has the Ability to hold up to 8GB of Ram.

Hasnt Let me down yet, and Brand New It Retailed at 695 USD.

The bad news is that you will be pretty limited for gaming with a budget of $700. You may be able to play older source engine games, but I wouldn't expect to get decent frame rates in BC2. Shop around and post up some links. When are you getting your bonus? There might be some good black Friday deals.

probably wont get it until the week before christmas if we get one at all... last year the xmas bonus was just 1 paychecks worth i guess it is usually bigger. My company just moved to anew building so not expecting more then 1 paychecks worth which is about 1k, if we get one that is.
