    Web Hosting Services

So I'm just curious as I really look more at the different providers out there and was curious what others thought or prefer.

Do you recommend sites like GoDaddy or HostGator?

    Something else?

What would be your pros and cons of working with each?

Would you say you prefer one over the other for business vs personal?

I've really only worked with GoDaddy and HostGator but I'm really just starting so would like to know in case I need to suggest something to clients whether it is for personal or professional use and possibly explore other options to expand my horizons.

Personally, from what I've seen so far I like the control panel for HostGator but some of the options in GoDaddy seem nice and has the cheaper plan right now.

What are your thoughts? Or does it matter to you at all?

I have used GoDaddy, HostGator, web.com, Media Temple, and 1and1, and 1and1 is my favorite. Their CP and functions just seem so user friendly to me.

1and1 was fine until the performance on my website went to shit. They oversold the box and wouldn't move me to another box unless I bought a more expensive plan. I'm using BlueHost now and have no complaints. Very comparable to 1and1.

I have a site hosted by GoDaddy and e-mail hosted by a small north Texas ISP. Neither has ever given me a reason to complain.
