Re: Power Supply and Case
What Buddy said, is this a short term fix or are you planning on using this case/power supply for long term? The more info you give about what you have now and what you are planning on doing the better info/suggestions you will get back.

Re: Power Supply and Case
Okie Dokie.
This is a long term project. I currently have just a Dell 745 Optiplex. But as i said before my new Nvidia 9800 GTX WILL NOT fit inside my current Dell case.
So....my plan which will change depending of what you guys tell me.
Was: Get a new case/tower and a new power supply and literally transfer everything from my current Dell Optiplex 745 into the new case EXCLUDING the old power supply and graphics card.
My end goal is to have a pretty cool gaming computer, ment for gaming but not excluding writing word docs, and such.
Also i plan on running duel monitors, As said here: http://www.teamplayergaming.com/pc-h...-monitors.html.
I acutally have this pretty cool DLable tool that scans your computer and tells you everything you have.
Because buying from dell, not really sure whats in there. http://www.cpuid.com/

Re: Power Supply and Case
You need to give total specs to us.....Processor, RAM, Mobo, etc... Probabaly better to start a new system than to piece out a DELL. I like Dell but when you start messing with individual components of a proprietary machine stuff can get tricky.

Re: Power Supply and Case
MiniTower, but its not mini.....its a regular size tower...anyways thats the one.
Ill give you more info when i have some free time.
I dont want to build out of a Dell but, i kinda have to. other wise it will be way more money, and way more time. i cant really wait that long.
So this kinda is my only option.

Re: Power Supply and Case
You would do better by saving up $500 and starting a new comp. I have "modified" DELLS, HP, GATEWAY.... and I always end up wishing I had started fresh. For $107 you can get a MOBO/AM3 255 combo that would probably be a step up form current.

Re: Power Supply and Case
get about 2 gb of ram for 35 bucks and use your HD in your dell. Now you have a system.
