I didn't see what advertiser it was, as my antivirus blocked it (you can see that the Advertisement window is blank). It seems to be a bad advertisement that is being served by the TPG sidebar.Last edited by Toad; 02-06-11 at 03:16 PM.

Pote, Just got it again. I was veiwing a thread in the banned forums, walked away for a minute and came back to that pop up. Running Malware bytes now.

its typically from an ad site. The ads run on the sides and the hackers hack the ad sites and load the malware onto it then when the ad rotation serves it up you get the virus instead of the intended legal ad. Its the whole reason I run no script and Firefox at work. It stops all those pesky little buggers.

The biggest key to all this ad malware is... it affects IE users more than the other browsers. Chrome and Firefox address security issues much quicker than Microsoft. The other consideration is typically plug-ins for your browser. Adobe Reader, Flash and Java are the top attack vectors over the last 18 months. Keeping these up to date is the key to secure browsing.
