computer won't restart

so, just did a windows update. my computer is now stuck on the "configuring windows" screen

your going to have to do it. All that will happen you might have to update windows again if any updates didn't configure. Or you could use restore.

Yea, I just ran some Windows updates tonight. When it rebooted, my primary graphics card was not working. I had to uninstall the updates, pull the card, re-seat it so Windows would see it again, then I had to reinstall my graphics drivers.

What a fucking pain in the ass!!!! I love Windows 7, but this was just ridiculous.

boot with the windows 7 disk and roll the system back to prior to the update.

This happens on my Vista 64 system with almost every Windows Update that requires a reboot. I have to hit the reset button; the Update then seems to start over on reboot, appears to complete normally, and, so far, I haven't noticed any untoward effects.
