That is a possibility. Of course, that depends on if SteelSeries actually puts out updated drivers. Honestly though, I have had my Logitech G35 USB headset for over a year and I don't think I have ever had to update the drivers. I just plug it in and it works! Hopefully SteelSeries is the same.
Back in the day, SteelSeries headsets were the choice for pro gamers. Now there are many options available, but you will likely be happy with them. I like USB headsets for the convenience. I plug it in and just switch between my playback audio devices if I want to switch between my headset and speakers. There is nothing worse than having to reach behind your machine and unplug stuff to change the audio device.

Re: New Headset
If I do end up buying the steelseries 5H v2 I'll probably get the usb version. Do you know what setting I should use in counter strike source? I think the options are 2 speakers, headset, 5.1, 7.1, and maybe one other. SO which should I use?
Also, with that headset I won't have to mess with any settings in windows or the software will I to get the most out of it?
