I miss the beauty of CRT, but not the size and power consumption. The very best LCD cannot hold a candle to a decent CRT for gaming. The last one I had was a fabulous 21" Sony Trinitron that had the most amazing picture I have ever seen on any TV or monitor. But it weighed like 70 pounds and actually broke two computer desks. I had it back when I used to LAN party a lot too. Plus it drew a lot of power. I will take the tradeoff for the wide screen resolution, much lower power draw and heat output, but especially the weight. But no LCD has ever been close to it in picture quality.
Sleep, eat, conquer, meditate, repeat.

Re: Mechanical Keyboards and 120hz monitors.
I went to Fry's and checked out all the 120hz monitors there, which they had hooked up with regular DVIs... They are hooked up correctly now! ;p.
They had an LG W2363D for $299, which seems like a good deal and I liked the way the screen looked and felt. Thinking about getting it.
Also got a chance to try out the Razer BlackWidow and it was awesome. Never used such a nice feeling keyboard before. But at $129 (or $79 w/o backlighting and headphone/mic jacks), its hard to justify. Maybe I'll hold off on that one.
Edit: They had both the Ultimate and regular version there. If I got one it would probably be the ultimate, because backlighting would be nice.Last edited by Madmax (Grape); 02-25-11 at 06:37 PM.

Updated Previous post. You are correct, and they had both at Fry's, but only the Ultimate on display. I bet they feel exactly the same just different features.
! I am on the mailing list, didn't notice a razer sale. Link? Thanks in advance. We can do better.

The last one was on Feb 15 part of the 48-hour sale, 15% ALL Razer products. The other one I can find before that was Jan 22. But sometimes they do such things for just headsets (a week or two ago they did), and another for Mice a week before that.

Bought the LG today.
WOW. Huge difference in smoothness, clarity, and, something I forgot about, tearing. Much easier to see little CT heads on the opposite side of de_port because of less blurring. Definitely worth the buy. Unfortunately for my wallet, I can never go back to 60hz...We can do better.

Keyboard wise I have a Logitech G15 (First Gen) and have had it for 3 or 4 years and not had a single problem with it. I have also used old DELL PS/2 "QuietKey" Keyboard that were old Boeing stuff which had been beat on forever, still have one as a backup!
