03-08-11, 06:13 PM #1Grrr Epson.
So I've got an Epson Stylus NX510 printer/scanner/copier. I installed Windows 7 SP1 and I was unable to print... So I go to Epson's website... last driver date for my printer was 10/9/2009. So I uninstall and reinstall the drivers using a copy I had (that I downloaded after 10/9/2009.) Still no dice. So I go to Epson's FTP site and check the file for my printer. It had a last modified date of 2/21/2011. WTF. They don't bother changing the filename. So I download that one, uninstall, reinstall with the newly downloaded one and I can once again print. What kind of brain dead company doesn't change the filename of their driver if they update it?

Ha ha! That's what you get for not buying a new printer every 2 years.

You need more than just a driver though when you have a multifunction printer. Specifically, the scanner suite is needed in order to be able to use it. It's easier to install the Epson package than it is to try and install each individual software package/driver. Now that I've discovered this issue though, I'll just re-download the drivers and not keep them around like I do now.

I've actually got an all in one solution. Like I said, it worked well just plugging it in. The only function I never use is the fax function as I rarely need to fax anything.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.
