What cable to use?
So I'm getting a new monitor in a couple days!!!
Newegg.com - ASUS VG236HE Black 23" 1920X1080 2ms Height,Swivel & Tilt Adjustable Full HD 3D Widescreen LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 100,000:1
Wondering what cable I should use to minimize input lag and get best response time, alllll of that good stuff for FPS gaming .
ps: are there any video settings to decrease any input lag or reduce any delays? ... don't think their is but let me know.

Re: What cable to use?
A DVI-D cable
If you want to spend a little more, go for gold plated
i got this cable and it works (there are a few other cables for a buck less if you want to search)
Newegg.com - BYTECC 6 ft. DVI-D Dual-Link Digital Cable w/Ferrites Model DVI-D06
EDIT: AFAIK, any DVI-D cable would have minimal latency issues, unless you got a very long cable

Gold plating on cables passing a digital signal really offer zero benefit, especially if the cable is short. It's a gimmick that manufacturers like Monster rely on to make their cables seem better than the rest. Marketing voodoo is all it is. Use monoprice.com for all your cable needs. They're inexpensive, quality cables.

You can send audio over DVI. It just depends if your graphics card supports it. This won't matter as your monitor does not have speakers anyways.
As for gold plating... it is pointless. The cables that come with your monitor should be fine. I use the Dual Link DVI cable on my monitor... works great. I use the HDMI cable for when I need to connect my work lappy to the monitor. It also works great.
Don't fall for the scam that the cable makes a difference. They don't. The digital signal either works or it doesnt. Gold plating only really matters if you were going to have a TV or monitor setup outdoors. The gold plating cables are less at risk for corrosion. If you need a longer cable, go to HDMI Cable, Home Theater Accessories, HDMI Products, Cables, Adapters, Video/Audio Switch, Networking, USB, Firewire, Printer Toner, and more!. They may be generic cables, but you will notice no difference than when paying for top quality Monster cables.
