Need cooling solution for gaming laptop!

My gaming laptop is getting really hot. Anyone have any good cooling solutions?

I bought this back in August 2010.
Asus - Laptop / Intel® Core™ i7 Processor / 17.3" Display / 6GB Memory / 640GB Hard Drive - Black - G73JH-BST7

I’m using GPU-Z to monitor my temperatures. Back in August 2010 it would run around 60-70 C during gaming. Now it’s running at 80-100 C.

Mine was running over 90, so I opened it up and cleaned all the dust and it went back down to 60. Sometimes all it needs is a good cleaning.

Echo this. The GF's laptop was running very hot. It's a Lenovo, with discrete grfx, the fastest CPU we could get, and a 7200 rpm disc - so it makes a fair bit of heat anyway.

Opened it up. The intake and outlet cooling fins, path, and fan, were choking with dust and dog hair.

Pulled the fan, heat sinks, and heat pipes out. Had to pull other stuff out to get at those. Cleaned the cooling fins. Cleaned and lubed the fan. Cleaned the top of the CPU and Grfx chip, and the heat sinks. Applied thermal compound to same. Blew-out and cleaned other parts, including keyboard. Reassembled. Runs cool again.

I wouldn't have done this without the shop manual, which Lenovo makes available. Even so, it was a fiddly process. Took maybe an hour, including testing. I already had the proper tools, lube, and thermal compound. I wouldn't say it was hard, but it's not for everyone.

Gutting it would be good, but also I heard someone, I forget who, used ice wrapped in a cloth haha.

My wife had a passive cooling pad that also worked well. She doesn't have a gaming laptop so an active cooling solution like Toker provided would be better.

I've got a beast of a laptop I've used as my main rig for a while now too.. But, with BF3 coming out, I'm going to build a new desktop around the end of summer. I'm enthused, because I already got the green light from the wife. Woot...
