Hold on heavy... I've read that you can't SLI those dual 460 cards (more than one company coming with them). Even though it had an SLI port shown, it was an error and that they could NOT be SLI'd to quad gpu. Also that it would take a 700watt power supply for ONE of them. Ouch...

That said... I'm going to go read what you posted to see if it's any different than I read the other day.

700 watt power to power just one, holy jesus!

Before anybody gets all happy about the SLI connector DONT. Im an active member over at EVGA and they said this card will NOT be able to be quad sli'd. They said after the design they forgot to take the sli connector off and it was too late too.

Galaxy has a dual 460 card coming out on a sexy white pcb and they dont have the connector on it like it shouldnt.

Don't know how reliable this person is, but that's what I've read anyway.

edit ya has kanati posted, no sli for quad (460's are, what 2gpu's so thats 4 and 8 for two 460w2's, cant do sli on quad then) and youll have to have two PSU's, wouldnt dav' more than any 1000watt psu and if you have a system like mine: a lot gets used by components other than the gpu's. No sli explains a lot though (like why they called it 460 w2)

The GTX 590 is going to be nVIDIA's response to the AMD Dual GPU card that was just announced. That one will likely be too rich for even me. I have money to spend, but I am no fool. I am on the notification list from EVGA and will likely buy two of them when they become available. If they don't perform better than the 570s, I will return/sell them.

the key will be what you cpu's specs are. CPU still has to delegate to the GPU's (ex its commonn for cases where lower performence GPU's perform better with certain CPU than two higher end GPU's).

They basically came to the conclusion that the CPU clock/performance played more of a role than the 16x/16x PCI lanes vs 8x/8x.

I will wait until they are released to be 100% sure. If they can't be SLId then I am surely not interested. But I read that they currently do not support SLI as there are no drivers from nVIDIA that will support... yet.

Again, I will wait until they come out and go from there.

I'm pretty sure a GPU cooler would be necessary for that thing. It must heat up like nothing else.
