I'm not sure we have a receiver. Another something to get at the station.
Looks like I have a lot of reading and listening to do tomorrow while I'm uh...working. I really need a pair of surround sound headphones with a high frequency range and large impedence.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Re: Sound Cards
+1 for G35 headset. I used to build all my systems with dedicated sound cards. I stopped about 4 years ago when the general trends was to move to headphones for gaming. Now I have a nice set of speakers for my PC but I use them maybe once a month, the rest of the time my headset is plugged in (I have a G35) because I share the computer room with my wife. If you have a decent motherboard it will have good on-board 5.1 or 7.1 audio built in, mine does. Toss in an i5 or i7 chip and you have more than enough processing power to run your audio from the PC. The G35s actually use software and USB to generate really nice surround sound on the gaming headset. Music sounds really good and I watch streaming movies through them. Short story, if you use external speakers in 5.1 or 7.1 configuration and you want the ability to push some power through them then use an dedicated sound card and power/equilizer equipment. If, like me, you switch between several PCs and maybe a laptop or two the USB headset route is fantastic as you can use them anywhere and they sound great.
