    Processor Problems

So, I ran the BIOS memory diagnostic, and it would appear that I have a memory problem. I'm betting on my processor, given that it was the part I replaced. Does anyone know where I can get an inexpensive Core 2 Duo or Quad? I'll take any advice.
    Thanks,
    Syvarris

    Re: Processor Problems

If the CPU is higher powered it might mean tweaking some things...

I recently installed a newer CPU and was getting all kinds of errors. After tweaking things a bit I discovered I was undervolting the RAM. Upping the DRAM voltage stabilized things. I was about to blame the CPU because it was the only thing I changed. Also, I was not getting any memory errors under memtest86.

I reset all my mobo values to "optimized defaults" and tweaked from there.

Also, a higher power CPU might reveal PSU issues. I would investigate memory and PSU before deciding it is the CPU.
