The bad thing is that it got it's ass whooped by the HD6990 at pretty much everything. But it is still the 2nd fastest graphics card on the market.

PC Perspective - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 3GB Dual-GPU Fermi Graphics Card Review

I would recommend going with two GTX 570s in SLI or two HD6950s in Crossfire unless you are really limited to only 1 PCI-E slot and want the fastest card possible.

Why the hell would you need to Quad-SLI? or Quad-XFire? I mean, maybe if you were doing some folding with graphics cards, but then you'd be using Quattros anyway. To have that much disposable income.

Oh, duh, I was thinking for some odd reason that two 590s would count as just 2-way SLI.

That's the conclusion of the reviewer at Techspot, also:
The GeForce GTX 590 faces a similar fate as the Radeon HD 6990. Since both are outgunned by pairing cheaper mid-range offerings like the HD 6950 (unlocked) or GTX 570, it makes more sense to go that route unless you're building a monster rig with quad-GPUs. The average gamer or enthusiast might as well skip over this generation of multi-GPU graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia.

    Re: EVGA GTX 590 CLASSIFIED

Bad news... It looks like the GTX 590s are blowing their VRMs like crazy. The GTX 570s are having this problem too. It isn't necessarily a problem with overclocking or over volting, but more an issue with power draw. These things are just getting hot and popping... sparks will come out the back of your card and it will start smoking... and your PC will shut off and likely not reboot until you pull the card and replace it.

    Have you killed a 570? - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net
    Open letter to Nvidia - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

For modders and overclockers out there... DO NOT DISABLE THE OCP POWER LIMITER IN GPU-Z! THIS IS CAUSING A LOT OF VRMS TO BLOW!

I also love this post... you get a free Nanosuit to protect you from any flames/debris from your VRMs when they blow!

    GTX 590 Maximum Overclock Edition?! - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

Anyways, just a heads up to the anyone with these cards. I am getting some great overclocking out of my GTX 570s, but your results may vary. Some people are having issues with the VRMs blowing at the stock speeds. There are about 12 people that have reported their cards blowing over at Overclock.net.

In addition, do NOT use Furmark to stress test your GTX 570 or 590. It is causing a lot of cards to fail.

    Re: EVGA GTX 590 CLASSIFIED

Apparently the 580 has enough VRMs to handle the power draw, so it isn't having the issue the 570 and 590 cards are having.
