FPS Dips CS:S
Just built a new computer and got a new monitor and it was all good
Lately, though when I become flashed and when going through smokes and such occasionally my FPS will drop to 100 (i have it capped a 121, 120hz monitor) and in rare cases down into the 60's
My computer should be plenty capable of running this game on high graphics with no fps dips at all,(Especially since I'm running a config that has some FPS settings in it.) but for some reason doesn't as of late.
Links to all computer parts:
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
CPU: AMD 1090T Black Edition
GPU: Nvidia GTX 570
SSD: Corsair 120gb
Windows 7 Professional
I scanned for viruses/malware/spyware and nothing came up I really don't understand, anyone have any ideas or fixes?
I've also looked to see if the computer is over heating when this is happening but it doesn't seem to be the problem.Last edited by Tyy; 04-01-11 at 12:58 PM.

Re: FPS Dips CS:S
Yeah, sorry about the links didnt even check them, copied them from a email i sent myself a while back when i was building it..... (cool story right?)
But anyway I updated those to things I think could possibly affect FPS...
It drops sometimes when I'm just running around. The serious FPS drops like down into the 60's usually occur when I'm coming out of a flash or running through a smoke... when this happens my crosshair starts lagging way behind my mouse or else I wouldn't be to concerned about it.
And it's not that its a MAJOR problem that this is happening but I feel like my computer should be able to maintain 120 FPS pretty much for any reason in this game.
