Re: TeamPlayerGaming Folding Team
Anybody up for a New Year's resolution? For the inactive folders on the team, I suggest: "I resolve to resume folding for TPG, if only enough to complete one work unit a week."
As New Year's resolutions go, that one should be easy to keep.
Any takers?"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

I have been trying to fold with my main rig when I go to bed, but my FAH Control keeps crashing at some point and all workers say "Failed". I reinstalled this afternoon on lunch, and so far, so good.

So GTX580 is in and folding, moved my old ATI card into my server, got rid of the 9800s, they were dying. So yeah, its going to take awhile, but I am hoping to break 1.5 million this semester.

I was looking at the stats page and I have the console client running 6.34
It is not reporting my points. How do I reconfigure it? When I open it up it starts folding. I have been running it a lot and just realized that it isnt reporting points. My hourly production shows my points from my PS3 and the 2k points is from a big WU I had running on a different folder.

flame,
I'm sorry, but I haven't used the console client in such a long time that I don't have an answer for you. I use, and recommend, the beta client.
By the way, according to extremeoverclocking, we're now in the top 400!!!!!

Re: TeamPlayerGaming Folding Team
Hey hey,
Got back into folding yesterday, been years since I have. I was a big folder back in college but i have not been involved for a while. I have my PS3, and my current quad core cranking on 3 of 4 cores(q6600 at 3.0ghz) while using the 4th core to assist my GPU folding(5870).
Slight down side actually is electrical cost. If i run my comp in full folding mode 18 hours a day I use 450 watts of power (according to my Kill a watt meter with no monitors running and amp off. Everything on its 650). So 18h X 450w X 31 days X (1/1000) = 251.1 kwh. At .0612 per kwh (cheap i know ) its costs me $15.36 a month to run (31 day month).
At this rate I'm capable of producing well over 12000 points per day which is cool. Since i just started this is a conservative estimate until I see how things shake out. On the weekends my rate will probably slow down becuase I'll be gaming but ehh you do what you can do With all this folding my pc acts like a space heater, good for the winter. At any rate glad to be part of the TPG folding team.Last edited by JimboIncinerator; 01-14-12 at 11:27 AM.

Terrific, and welcome, Jimbo! You've already jumped into 35th place out of 50 members.
Know anyone else you can recruit?"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

Finally got my cooling situation straightened out. Replaced 3 case fans, and re-applied my heatsink/fan with some fresh thermal compound and I'm now running MUCH cooler. CPU is hovering around 43-45C fully loaded and GPU is 54-58 fully loaded. New case fans are MUCH quieter and appear to be doing a better job moving air around. I'm going to replace the last 2 remaining 120mm fans with the same model (Scythe Kama Flow 2 1400 rpm.)
