Re: Phone Upgrade
Not the rooting factor. Just the support factor. One of the very best factors of rooting is getting 2.3.X (Gingerbread), and ROMs as well. One of the most famous is Cyanogen, however. The Atrix isn't supported by Cyanogen, mainly HTC phones are supported, that or G series phones (G2, G2X, G1, Nexus One, Nexus S)

I do look on XDA, and I wasn't saying rooting it was hard. The support network isn't as large as HTC phones w/ the ROMs. As for Android 2.2, it's not Android 2.3.x which is the main reason many root. (Cyanogen 7/Villan/Other Roms). Yes sorry if I wasn't clear. I mean it isn't Android UI.

Well, Bunni has a right to be disgruntled. The locked/signed bootloader on the newer Motorola phones prevents you from installing non-Motorola ROMs. The original Droid was fine. It was open, and used the stock Android UI. Motoblur is the worst of the custom skins out there, in my opinion. The locked bootloader and Motoblur UI are the deal breakers for me.
