Win 7 and Creative labs soundblaster card

I cannot get windows 7 to recognize my audio card. Had a hard drive failure and trying to bring pc up to date. Cannot get sound card to enable

Are you using the drivers from Creative? Or the builtin Windows 7 drivers? I'd hit their site for the specific drivers.

When I try to download drivers it says cannot find the sound card and exits setup

creative's site is terrible at identifying your card. try it the manual way for your model.

I had this problem when I first installed win 7 I just cannot figure out wghat i did to get it to work I will unplug and reinstall and see if win 7 sees it

Go to the speaker in the bottom right of your taskbar... click on "Playback Devices". Make sure your sound card is selected as the default device.

For whatever reason, I had an issue when I reinstalled my graphics card drivers that the HDMI audio for one of my cards was set as default. I ended up just disabling all of the digital audio outs from my graphics cards as I never use them.

This will be helpful..... for windows 7 most features were removed from creative sound sound cards. This guy edits the drivers and software to re-enable the features.....

That and his drivers work tons better then the crappy drivers creative makes for windows vista and 7.
