Yea, White is right. For AMD the 6950 is probably the best buy around because you can unlock the additional shaders on the 6950 to make it equivalent to the 6970. This mod is becoming more and more popular because it is easy, not too risky, and provides a pretty big performance boost.
As for single cards, I think either the AMD 6950 or the nVIDIA GTX 560ti are the best cards in that price range, with the 6950 having the slight edge due to the unlock mod.

So I have Windows 7 installed on the computer, it is functional - just need a mouse and a working Ethernet connection. It was very ... intriguing installing with keyboard shortcuts it was done but interesting nevertheless. It still needs a video card to help the rating, and its faster ram and most certainly a new heatsink and fan since the one that it comes with is no where near what I'd like to have on it.

The absolute BEST place to go for video card advice is TomsHardware.com. Follow this exact link and it will tell you the BEST video card for a certain price range. This is all backed up with bench mark results, data, features, etc. It is updated once a month so it is very much current.

GRRRR!!!! OM-GEEZUS! Okay, so after further research and continuous problems from the on-board NIC... It's been concluded I need a new NIC.
