    My Current Rig

Is still in the process of being built, right now it has an 850W Power Supply, an ASUS M-EVO motherboard, 2 G.SKILL DDR3 4GB @ 1033, and a CoolerMaster Storm Scout case. I have an AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8 GHz on its way to me, along with an ASUS SATA CD/DVD Burner.

I plan on getting an ATI Sapphire Vapor-X 5750 Raedon HD 1 GB with 128-MB, and a Zalman 110mm Fan for the processor and two additional 120mm case fans, the Storm Scout already comes with two 140mms and a 120mm but I want to be on the safe side.

I also want to upgrade the ram from 1033 to 1600, and add in a Blu-Ray drive. So far I've been fairly happy with the pricing of the computer I don't wanna add up all the receipts just yet but considering its taken a few pay checks and two hundred dollars a piece with each set of purchasing... Yeah.

But it'll be worth it to see that sucker fly once its powered up.

I currently have a very old 160 GB IDE, and yes I do plan on purchasing a TB hard drive and then later another TB, but the 160 is enough for now to old Windows 7. Which I am getting from a roommate, so that's my current build and she should be finished by... well functional by this next coming week, and fully functional by my next paycheck and anything after that is just bells and whistles.

Yes it is, because building a six core beast is awesome.

Hmm... why the ATI 5750? It might bottleneck this beast. I don't think you should skimp on the graphics card. Spend $100 more and this thing will scream.

Yeah. Spend the money you earmarked for the upgraded CPU and get a better GPU. The CPU you have is more than adequate to handle pretty much anything you throw at it.

I'd go with a beefier GPU before CPU- a faster clock speed is better for gaming than more cores. Grab a X4 Phenom at a higher clock speed and a 5770.

    X4 Phenom II
5770 (O.C. version or go with a new 6000 series)
1600 Mhz RAM. You can grab 6 gigs if you look around for a good price.

Definitely something I will take under heavy consideration, and well I already ordered the X6 so a little too late for that. I have not ordered my graphics card yet and I will take that into a lot of consideration.

Yeah I have to wait on the upgrade for my RAM that'll probably happen in June.

Edit: Okay, sooo yeah I'm looking at the 5800s and the 5900s right now and wow, yeah I agree it might be worth it. I don't see the 6000s yet on Newegg but I am now considering upping the stage.

Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Video Cards & Video Devices, Desktop Graphics / Video Cards, Radeon HD 6000 series
There are the 6000 series. They're under AMD instead of ATI.

That being said, what games do you plan on playing and at what resolutions? If you were only playing CSS and not something more demanding like Bad Company 2 or Metro 2033, then you don't really need a 6xxx series card.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Star Trek Online, DC Universe Online, and plenty of other games and I'm willing to play Bad Company, and I'm going to reinstall Grand Theft Auto. Probably end up playing Crysis just to see how it looks and I will be running Blu Ray, a Blu Ray drive is what I'm getting in June as well. Thanks, Mr. White =]

Well, then I would probably recommend the 6950. It's anywhere from $229 (with rebate) to $300. Now, the neat thing about the card is that you can unlock it to be a 6970. Heavy knows all about that. It requires a Bios flash, and a little bit of OCing.
    Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100312-1GSR Radeon HD 6950 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity
That card is really hard to beat for the money.
Heavy will probably in a while to say something profound! He's an endless fount of knowledge.
