Oh no, you misunderstand. 130 is a great ping to USA servers. My ping to German servers is always under 20. My DSL is very solid. I only wish I was in an area that had the 100mb cable or the 50mb DSL.

    Re: Verizon DSL Anygood?

for me, (I have verizon DSL) the connection is constant, never goes down. (If it does, its because of some catastrophic disaster).

We pay for the highest level we can get 3 Mbps down and .758 Mbps up. And in reality we receive: 3.38 Mbps down and .320 Mbps up.

Downloads do take forever, but your ping (no torrenting... etc.) will always be steady, it will not fluctuate. I get 20 ms to local servers, and 76-78 ms to the TPG L4D2 servers. (I live on the east coast)

So if you are ok with the speed, it is a good choice.... and cheap too...

I have frontier (used to be verizon, same equipment and practices, different employees) and with both companies I found myself having to power cycle the router every couple days.

I have DSL, although it isn't Verizon (Windstream).

I'm pleased with it, I was on wireless internet for two years and it was a nightmare.

Well I got it. Keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't suck. Can't be any worse than Comcast or tethering to my 3g phone.

Well pings on my Verizon DSL seem to be just fine. We will see how it is when I get into a game. Throughput is absolutely garbage. I won't have L4D or CSS downloaded until tomorrow most likely :/. Oh well, as long as I can play a game without lagging all over the place.
