Re: New Rig
Yup.
Uhhh you should consider saving another $75. The Asus P8P67 Deluxe is not even worth what it costs and the WD Black's aren't worth the price either.
Here it shows the Samsung F3 1TB beating the WD Black 1TB for $25 less, in some cases vice-versa. However no matter how much you spend, no matter what, the HDD is still an HDD, Mechanical hard drives can only improve so much. No matter what, there will be a very small difference there for the extra $25 isn't justified.

Another thing, the Deluxe isn't worth it because you have MSI P67A-GD65 that performs quite close to it infact most cases on par.

The WD Black drives are good. You should be fine. I have two of them (2 x 640 GB) in RAID-0 and they are very quick and not too loud. Not as fast as an SSD, but they do great at loading my games.

Both are good drives. The Samsung wins in a lot of categories, but loses in some. Access time for the WD drive is faster in almost every test. Then again, you probably won't notice much difference in real world applications. I would pay the extra $25 just to get a WD drive as I have personally had a great customer experience with them, but that is just me. The Samsung drive will likely be fine as well.
As for the Motherboard, the ASUS board you have selected is great. I would not change it to the MSI board as the ASUS board is more feature rich. ASUS also has a great warranty and RMA process. I recently RMAd an ASUS board and had it back in my hands within 10 days. If you would have asked me 5 years ago, I would never had recommended ASUS as they had terrible customer support. Well they have been listening to the complaints of the consumers about the terrible service and they have fixed it. Go with the ASUS board... you won't be disappointed.
