so i noticed my fan is running a bit louder/faster latley and looking at the temp readings right not cpu is at 48 degrees Celsius and mb is at 30 Celsius i was told that the max my cpu should get is 60 degrees Celsius so i'm running a bit hot it seems i was told on amd/phenom you should re do the thermal paste every 6 months so basicly i just want to confirm this info and if buying another fan do i want an exhaust or intake

You should depending on the CPU you have. The FAN, what is it? Is it the stock one?
Also, if you know the CPU could you tell us?
If not, open windows and use run. After run opens up, type dxdiag and search it. That should tell you the "Processor"

First thing I'd do is ensure your fans aren't clogged with dust. Blow the fins/fan out with compressed air on the heatsink to ensure you are getting good airflow. Depending on your thermal paste used, it wouldn't be a bad idea to re-apply. Just make sure you thoroughly clean both the CPU and heatsink and also make sure you don't over-apply your thermal paste. If you're just using the heat pad that came with the stock AMD heatsink, definitely replace that. Remove using isopropyl alcohol and a coffee filter (or other lint-less paper).

Go with nothing short of Arctic Silver. There's no sense in taking chances with the brain of your computer.

    Newegg.com - Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - Thermal Compound / Grease

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.
