Anyone have useful tips for Unix? It's been a few years since I've worked with it. I'm going to be working on a super computer that uses it for my research.

http://steve-parker.org/sh/sh.shtml for writing shell scripts. You should also read the docs for your scheduler to see how to write proper job submission scripts. If your environment is using Sun Grid Engine PM me and I can point you to some sample SGE submission scripts.
to enable execution of files you create you must remember to `chmod a+x yourfile.sh' (modify permissions to allow everyone to execute the file), then to execute it you `./yourfile.sh'
never hurts to learn vi either

Talked with my adviser. I'll be using Xming and Putty. Probably use the same for LONI. I also found out that Loni is redhat.
Thank you for the info on shell scripts. That will definitely come in handy!enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
