They auto shutoff when not in use. And the charger rolls up. I rolled over cords and jerked the headset off the desk so many times, I didnt want USB but the hell with it the wireless is so nice! I was amazed by the quality.

I have had mine since Friday and the biggest thing for me to get used to is the lack of wire. There was always a little weight on the side with the wire and nothing significant but once you are wireless you can notice it is not there.

The charger is handy and rolls right up and if you have a smartphone, newer ones, it will likely be the same charger mini usb. So I just use that to charge my thunderbolt while I'm at the computer. And for those who turn off their machines when they are not around you can just get the USB to wall outlet adapter and boom you're set.

HAHA LMFAO! I have done exactly that! My thunderbolt dies so I just plug it in since its there.

I'm really enjoying my G35s.
