    Aight, installed an EVGA GTX580 this afternoon and it is running smoothly so far. No weird graphics. Game crashed only once. Hopefully I can get my older one repaired and return this new one within 30 days so Fry's will still take it back.

    What mainboard you got ?
    what sound card ? what Hertz setting you got the sound card set to ? (alot of mobo's just can't do it with anything above 24bit 48000Hz. The intel X58 boards can run 24bit 192000Hz).
    what operating system ?

    It looks to me a sound card issue with that mainboard/clipping sound/lower the Hertz on the soundcard.

    win 7 > right click volume icon > playback devices > speakers > properties > advanced..
