I am having technical issues with my computer playing BF2.
My computer is making "popping" sounds and weird graphics and also freezing where I must hit the reset button to unfreeze it. Here is a coupla screenshots of what's happening to the video:

Ballsy......What card and what driver version?
I know Gunny and I both had problems with the newer ATI drivers.....rolled them back, and all was well again.
Also....when is it happening? Right away, or after you play for a while? Could be overheating the vid card.....possibly fixed by a can of air.

Does it only do this in one game?

Re: I am having technical issues with my computer playing BF2.
Popping sound comes thru the speakers/headsets.
Right before the computer locks up the screen flickers once and then freezes.
Does it only in game;
I just sprayed out all of the dust and the problem still exist;
My video card and sound card are uncomfortably close. Like right on top of each other.
The video card is not that old maybe 8 months: GeForce GTX570 1280MB GDDR5
It starts not long after I am in game.
I have a thermometer? on the mother board and as I am typing this it is displaying 34. Once I start the game it goes to 48.
I am wondering if I should reinstall the game first before trashing the card and if I do what is the update called? 1.5? I have this in my documents already downloaded.Last edited by Ballsyone; 07-20-11 at 10:23 AM.

Re: I am having technical issues with my computer playing BF2.
Just talked to my computer guy. On his suggestion I downloaded EVGA's Precision software and turned the fan speed ALL THE WAY UP, started the game and IMMEDIATELY had the same problems. So I am off to Frye's today for the new version of EVGA's GTX 580. I'll let you guys know what happens.
