Thread: Do You Like Your ISP?

UPDATE: I lost my connection completely twice last Sat. ATT provided the CAT 5 line and allowed me to run it (I did the attic belly crawling in 100+ degree weather) from the outside box to the inside jack and gave me another new router.

Service has stayed on since then but the problem of 70's to 140 ms (mostly 70's to 105 ms lately) latency swings still persists but I just got a phone call from someone in ATT's network group. He tested the line while we spoke and found that I am 2200 ft. from the VRAD and there are faults in the line at 850 and 1600 ft. from my house. A line tech is supposed to come out and work on it tomorrow. I'm not sure if those line faults are the cause of the issue but I'm glad they are still working on it. After 3 + weeks I had given up hope.

I envy you Verizon Fios guys. If I ever move, I'll have to make FIOS availability part of the consideration :-/
