Need upgrade help.
Well, BF3 fast approaches and I need to upgrade my rig to be able to play it. The problem is, I'm not as tech savvy as I would like to be, so I need some help figuring out where my rig needs to be upgraded. What I want is to be able to play BF3 at full graphic intensity as well as being able to record video at the same time. The closest game I can compare to BF3 that I play is BC2, and I can only play that on the lowest settings, and I can't record video while playing it. So I'm fairly certain my rig needs some major upgrades for me to get what I want. Here's the gear that I have right now, straight from Dxdiag.
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Memory: 3070MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
Sound card: SB X-Fi Audio [C800]
I don't know exactly what else is needed, so if there's anything else, let me know. Advice, product suggestions, and stuff like that is what I want.

You're going to need to upgrade the whole rig especially to record video. How much are you willing to spend? Should be able to reuse the sound card though.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Re: Need upgrade help.
Judging by the vintage of your other parts, I have concerns for your mobo's upgradeablity.
You will probably need a quad core and a definitely a bigger GPU for sure, also more RAM would not hurt. Depending on your mobo it may want a serious upgrade.
What is your mobo and how much do you want to spend?

Re: Need upgrade help.
The Motherboard was one of the things I couldn't find. How would I figure out what it is?
I don't want to spend too much. But I have a lot of leeway with my money. Seeing as I figured I would need a lot of upgrades, I figured I could start out at somewhere around $1000 and I could go from there. I can go over this if need be, but it would be nice if I didn't have to.

Re: Need upgrade help.
Download and run this: CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting
When in the program, just select the motherboard tab.
Alternately the model of the mobo is stamped on it somewhere, if you look around for something that looks like a name/number (AM2N32-SLI for example) and put it into google, that may work also.
