Been looking at new laptops and almost have singled out the one I plan to get, but there are a couple differentials I was hoping some of the tech-savy people here could help with. First off, the two laptops are the same except for the differences and the fact one is 700.00 and one is 800.00

The 700.00 one has:
i5-2410M ( 2.30GHz 1333MHz 3MB )
6 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz

and a smaller harddrive (both have 5400 rpm drives though, thus I plan to replace them making the size difference not that important)

The 800 one:
i7-2630QM ( 2.00GHz 1333MHz 6MB )
8 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz

Everything else is the same. The plan is to use it for mostly gaming, but not picky about running the top notch stuff because...well its a fucking laptop. If it can run most current stuff and older stuff I'll be fine. I have a game (and another that will come out) that takes a good bit of CPU power, so something that can run it well would be nice as well. Both fit the recommended for the game, but 99% sure the game often will need more then the recommended (depending on how you play it).

From a limited search I gathered the i7 has hyperthreading (?), but will it really make that much of a difference with gaming? I would guess no but not really 100% on that as well. Is there any other reason to go with the i7 over the i5?

How much difference would the extra 2 GB of RAM make?

Basically trying to figure out if the i7 and extra RAM is significant enough of an upgrade to spend the extra 100 dollars, or if the return would be too small to justify?
