Need new speakers!
And apparently there are not that many that you can plug a headset into anymore! Anyone have a recommendation on a cheap set that I can plug my headphones into?
Every set I see in stores do not have the plug ins up front.
Also, anyone use the Asus VIA HD audio deck? Cause I have it and really, really dislike it. To the point of thinking of buying a new sound card just to get rid of it. Anyone know of any other solutions?
Thanks!"The bravery of idiots is bravery none the less."

Swan has some amazing home stereo bookshelf speakers. Not sure if they have a headphone jack, but you should be able to kludge together a splitter and some adapter from radio shack to get what you need for any speaker.
As far as soundcards, I have yet to find one I like more than the Asus xonar essence stx. It has a built-in headphone amp and offers lots of other outputs.

Re: Need new speakers!
Well, I'm not an audiophile and whatever on board sound has always been good for me, but I can't get this stupid via to switch to usb headphones from my speakers. Just kinda stupid. Or user-unfriendly or something.
And by "Cheap" I mean less than 20 bucks. I only need two little ones to sit beside the monitor."The bravery of idiots is bravery none the less."

Re: Need new speakers!
I have a 5.1 logitech that I love, has the control know and headphone/mic jack right there. So easy to switch, until I got a usb headset. I love the sound but use the headset more now since I have to have one for a decent mic. Always was a bitch wearing the headphones around my neck for a mic.

Re: Need new speakers!
I've spent 8 pages of google search and can only find one set that costs $60.
I even called cyber accoustics and asked them, they responded that they make NO speakers that have a mic jack.
I'm baffled."The bravery of idiots is bravery none the less."

Logitech makes a nice little USB desktop mic for like 20 bucks or less. It is pretty good. But the sound through your speakers will probably go through any mic you use.
E: is Harmon kardon (sp?) Still around? I remember They used to make nice budget speakers.
