lol he was asking for speakers, don't know how you all got off track on microphones. Logitech ones are good but with speakers you get what you pay for. The value for the sweet spot is somewhere between 60-100 in my opinion. After that I would just assume buy a really nice headset rather than speakers. I use my headset a lot more.

I am really curious in what I am missing in 60 dollars.

Does anyone have a reference that analyzes my situation as a gamer vs $100 speakers?

Nothing with HZ or Frequencies please, I don't know ( or care) enough for the tech terms, but I would love to know what I'm missing.

As my (point of view) reference, Let me say that I do not require more than two speakers to enjoy a movie and in addition, more than two speakers will clutter my desk more than I care for.
If I had five speakers I would not hook up 2-3 or would have them behind the desk or in a closet/corner to be out of the way.

I can See a difference in HD vs analog, but I don't think it likely that I could tell the difference in fine speakers any more than I can tell the difference in a fine wine. I just don't have a nose/ear for such things.

But hell, I love to be wrong, link me some information!

My son has an earlier model of these speakers, and i have the 5.1 version..... they freakin ROCK. Excellent sound IMO. No mic jack in the front though.... yes theres a headphone jack, but none for the mic.

If you don't have an ear for it, be thankful. Cuz if you did, You would have to start dropping bigger and bigger chunks of cash on gear in order to get a sound you like. TVs and monitors are the same way. I have to get a high end plasma TV and ips panel monitors because the artifacts and imperfections in anything less hurt my eyes/brain.
