    Laptop Advice Needed

I am getting a laptop finally. I have a few requirements:

    1) ~$500 range
    2) Can play games in a pinch. Nothing crazy. Low-Med Settings.
    3) Would like something smaller than a 17 inch screen.

A couple options I was looking at:
    Newegg.com - lenovo IdeaPad Z570 (10243TU) Notebook Intel Core i3 2310M(2.10GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory DDR3 1333 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M

    Newegg.com - Acer Aspire AS5560G-SB485 Notebook AMD A-Series A8-3500M(1.5GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi AMD Radeon HD 6470M

Are the new AMD Quad Core A-Series CPU any good?

Bump. I am also looking at getting this.

Dell XPS 15 Core i5 Dual 2.3GHz 16" LED Laptop for $645 + free shipping
Its a good bit out of what I wanted to spend. Core i5 and NVidia 525M dedicated sounds so nice. If anyone bought a laptop recently or has any recommendations I would love to hear them.

Australian-I feel for ya bro gaming on a piece of shit you should be twice as good at any game you play. Thats really really a scary thought. Part of me does not want you to get a new rig.

As far as brand goes, Lenovo is the most reliable. Regardless of what laptop you get, buy as long of a warranty you can afford.

My advice with computers has always been, DO NOT buy Dell, HP or Intel stuff, void em as much as possible.

AMD vs Nvidia, I am an AMD fan, but I know Nvidia makes better top tier shit, BUT in lower tiers, AMD is better and cheaper.

I've never been a fan of Dell but I have never had an issue with an HP machine, and their prices are generally reasonable.

Also brock try dealzon.com they have a laptop section with some great deals. Oh and i agree whoever mentioned Lenovo, those are pretty sexy laptops, a good chunk line was bought from IBM (or IBM contracted out to them, i forget) and is some quality shit.

Lenovo bought the entire laptop line from IBM. They kept the same look and principles, but upped the quality a bit more. Never use them for heavy gaming, but if you want something that works consistently, you can't go wrong with them.

Still, buy the longest warranty you can afford no matter the make and model of laptop you buy. They are a pain to fix if something breaks. Most times, you won't even be able to fix it yourself and have to send it in. And those repairs won't be cheap.
