Boot off the media, DO NOT click the media if it autostarts in the DVD tray when your current OS is running. If you install from the .exe from inside your current OS you will get upgraded. If you burn the ISO to a DVD boot off it and install from it you will get the option to do a fresh install of windows 7.
Does it need to boot off of a DVD? Can I still install the .iso using a USB if I make a new computer?

You can unpack the iso using 7zip.

okay, it's just I've never made a computer before so I just wanted to make sure I could actually unpack it with a program because it would be a brand new machine i'm just inserting a USB drive with the iso on it.

idk, hope you see my concern

Of course, don't sweat it. If you have any questions, first google, then PM someone. Your first build is almost always frustrating, so don't worry so much if things don't work right away. Also your going to have to set the boot order on your mobo. I think the P6P67 was recommended for you, I have that board so you can PM me if you have some specific questions. Heavy also has some variation on that board, I think.

Mango, what anti virus are you going to use? I've been using the same one (avg) for the last few years. Is there something better out there? Seeing as the antivirus is probably the first software that should be installed.
