New Monitor that does not work D:
Finally, I got a new monitor. (I am about to say cable colors because I keep forgetting their names) My computer, Gateway GT5662? Runs on the white cable for a video output. The blue cable is useless. The Samsun monitor I just got only allows the blue cable. I have been back and forth from best buy all day and I want to play BC2 on my new screen tonight. How can I switch the settings to allow the blue cable

Re: New Monitor that does not work D:
Is the monitor old? If I'm interpreting your post correctly, your PC has a DVI out (white cable), but your monitor has only a VGA input (blue cable). Is that correct? Any newer monitor should have a DVI input, so how old is the monitor? Which model is it?
Some cables do not follow the above color scheme, so make sure you're correct on the type of cable interface. That Gateway PC does list a DVI output. What does the monitor input look like? Look here: Dynex™ - 6' DVI-to-VGA Cable - DX-C112241 The smaller (on the left) end is VGA; the larger (on the right) end is DVI. Does that look right?"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

Re: New Monitor that does not work D:
Not really. The computer has a blue and (white), after my new video card (red) output. I put the white cable into my old screen and into the red output which is the same as the white and it works. If you try to only allow the blue cable then no video will be outputted. I believe my computer is programed to only run out of the white... Now red.. Output. So the only way it would work is if I buy an adapter to attach from the blue cable to the white/red output? Or could I change the settings since my graphic card supports more than one monitor?

Re: New Monitor that does not work D:
Let's stop with the color coding. You're confusing the hell out of me.
Your Gateway PC has built in video with DVI out. Correct? And, you have added a video card. Correct? What is the card, and what output does it have: DVI, VGA, HDMI? If you're not sure look it up online and find out. Help us help you.
Tell us which model of Samsung monitor you are trying to use. Look it up and tell us what inputs it has.
Now, once you have the correct names for the inputs and outputs sorted out, tell us again which setup works and which doesn't."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
