Eyfinity vs. 1 Big Monitor? Question inside
So I have just purchased parts for a a new pc build. Going with 2 6950 2bg HIS ICEQ turbos in Eyefinity. My question is what would be better for a gamer who is almost done with his gaming career, one last hurah per say in a build and set up. I was thinking about doing a 3 monitor set up 21-22" per at max res 1980-1020. I have seen the entire set up for $899 But was thinking about doing it myself and I could spend around $700. But I'd be taking a risk of dead pixels and rma and what not.
OR: Should I just get a 27" $3-400 monitor that has great res all the fixins and I could double as a TV if I wanted to.
I guess what I am asking, because I do not know too much about them. What is better to have a 120 Hrtz tv or a 3-5 ms monitor? What is the difference and why should I get one over the other? So much different information out there. Just need some experienced people to tell me whats up and what to get.Last edited by Balkovec; 10-03-11 at 05:59 PM.

Re: Eyfinity vs. 1 Big Monitor
I have a g19 keyboard for things like that, they come up on the screen when people talk and when people log on. Currently running an old 22" 60 hrtz 12 RR monitor right now. So I'f needed I could do that, But doesn't having a three monitor set up give me more viewing space on my periphrials both right and left?

120hz TVs do not take 120 hz input, they process the image inserting intermediate frames. They have bad input lag in that mode.
I'd recommend a 120hz monitor. They are super smooth and depending on the screen can have as low as 2 ms response time.We can do better.

Re: Eyfinity vs. 1 Big Monitor
i used to do dual monitor with the second for TS, BF2CC, whatever, and I will never go dual-monitor again. Alt-tab silliness, performance loss, not able to get exactly the same color temperature (easier if you get two of the same model). One big nice monitor would be my recommendation. Post pics when you're done

Re: Eyfinity vs. 1 Big Monitor
Ok so I have been looking at this PC Illuminate - The Multi-Monitor People.
I just dont know if I should get the above, or just buy 3 monitors from another site and let them stand on their own like this Buy.com - ASUS VE248H 24" LED Monitor
This guy has them on their individual stands http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljb4fM-91LU&NR=1
Are stands something worth while or just a waste of money? hell I could even do a wall mount system maybe.
