Keyboard Recommendations
I'm thinking of finally getting myself a new keyboard, I've been using an HP keyboard that came with the very first PC I bought back in 2002. It's not that this one is broken, it's still functional. I'm mainly looking into a new one because I recently ordered the parts for a new gaming PC and with that purchase I feel like it's finally time to upgrade my keyboard and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. The only thing that I should mention is that I'm using a desk that has a sliding shelf for my keyboard and mouse and unfortunately that means that the keyboard I get cannot be any larger than a standard keyboard, hopefully the standard size hasn't changed since 2002 lol

Re: Keyboard Recommendations
I've got a g15 and wouldn't recommend anything else. backlit, no ghosting (does your HP keyboard ghost?) - i don't even use the programmable macros and barely use the LCD but i love the keyboard. if your keys stick you can clean it. i have put my g15 through the dishwasher once. disassembled the whole thing, set the LCD components aside and all the rubber/plastic cleaned up good as new (the media control buttons that surround the lcd were a little tricky to get back in but got it eventually got it)

Not 100% sure what ghosting is?
To be honest this keyboard still works perfectly, at least it doesn't stick and all the inputs work. I'm just wondering if a keyboard that's built for gaming would be more responsive or make gaming better. My keyboard also doesn't use USB, it uses the old green plug (forget the name for it)Last edited by Solstatic; 10-03-11 at 10:10 PM.

More than you wanted to know about keyboard ghosting: Microsoft Applied Sciences Group
PS/2: the green thingy.
I use a a Merc Stealth, which took some getting used to. It's too wide for your desk. I really like having lighted keys, so anti-ghosting and lighted keys are two of the things I'd be sure a new keyboard offers."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
