    1am tech craving

Ever get those odd ideas that you really want something at 1am?

I was getting ready for bed and was going to continue reading the third book of the Hunger Games. And I noticed that my buttons on the Sony PRS505 reader I keep going back to are starting to look worn. And I really wanted to try those new infrared touch screen readers...

So... clothes back on... Wal-mart 1am road trip!

    Picked up one of these.

The infrared touch screen is as responsive as a capacitive screen. Obviously it doesn't update as quickly. But it does update a lot faster than the old gen 1 e-ink screens did. And it's a LOT better in lower light. The contrast of the e-ink pearl screens are somewhat striking. I think I'll put the Sony back on the shelf for a while.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

Yeah I used to read constantly. And in the last oh... 10 years I've been pretty much incapable of reading and actually finishing a book. I've been reading short stories and fan-fic for the most part.

But I decided to try reading the Hunger Games and I was hooked. I've read the first two books straight through and I'm about halfway through The Mockingjay. Going to have to check out her other books now too.

If you like kinda sci-fi ish adventure, check out Enders game, or the author Scott westerfield. Both good!

Pfft it's all about Robert A. Heinlein.

Ender's is good. Simon Green's Deathstalkers and David Drake's Hammer's Slammers are pretty good too.
