Memory:
2048MB RAM
Hard Drive:
250 GB
Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
Monitor:
Default Monitor
Sound Card:
Realtek HD Audio output
Speakers/Headphones:
Keyboard:
USB Root Hub
Mouse:
USB Root Hub
Mouse Surface:
Operating System:
Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090804-1435)
And still be able to do school stuff
No real price limit but cheaper would of course be better

Re: Gaming Laptop
Are you dead set on a laptop?
This laptop is very reasonably priced and has a decent dedicated videocard:

Re: Gaming Laptop
A laptop is definitely what I want. I need to have it for school and it would just be easier to get rid of the desktop I have. If possible I would still like to be able to run BC2 and other games as well if not better than my current computer. I do not know much about parts and requirements which is why I'm coming here

Re: Gaming Laptop
I am looking also at laptops since I am currently spending 16 days of the month in hotels. My current one can't even run BF2 because of the GPU.
I was looking at this Asus for $900: Newegg.com - ASUS G Series G53SW-XN1 Notebook Intel Core i7 2630QM(2.00GHz) 15.6" 6GB Memory 500GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M
I really like this Sager but is it $1400: GenTech PC - Sager NP8150 15.6 inch gaming notebook

You should check out Origin PC too, they are pricey, but you will get EXACTLY what you want out of your gaming laptop since you can customize every damn thing on the laptop.
Choose your Custom High-Performance Laptop | ORIGIN PC
When I have the money, I will probably get an Origin Laptop.
Also, you can have it delivered in a giant wooden crate. Which is awesome.

Re: Gaming Laptop
I have the ASUS G73JH that I got brand new for $1400 last June off Portable One (no rebates, just an on sale price). The ASUS G74SX has replaced it as the "uber" laptop. Portable one has it for ~$1700.
I love my G73JH. It has ran quite well for me. I have thought about buying two SSD's for it, a 40GB one for windows, and an 80 or 120 for games. If you look online you should be able to find some benchmarks for the laptops and compare them. Mine came with a 2 year "oops i dropped it" warranty.

Re: Gaming Laptop
What exactly do you need a laptop for? You say school, but are you in college yet? Either way, I would highly recommend a netbook + a high end desktop.
You'll save money, have better gaming performance and have a much easier time carrying that thing into class than lugging any real gaming laptop around.
"Gaming" laptops are, in general, garbage.
