Re: Just thought I'd brag
This is back when I was on campus.. this is wireless and the lowest ping server i could connect to.
I don't have the speedtest from when I was on the hardwire, but it was in the 3000 MB/s range.... I was utilizing a direct fiber line into the back of my computer.... ah those were the days....Last edited by rush2049; 10-31-11 at 05:57 PM.

Re: Just thought I'd brag
well I am bound for download speed based on the speed serving up the file. That is my connectivity speed not my specific download speed. If the provider of the file doesn't have bandwidth limitations in place I can download at that speed. I have that connectivity speed because the campus I work for has 6 3GB pipes servicing our connectivity needs. Today there are 3 pipes "on" each with 1GB throughput and its scalable in real time based on campus demand. We can ratchet it up to 18GB with all 6 pipes running at max. We also took the initiative to spread those pipes across 3 different providers so that if 1 or 2 goes down the remaining providers pick up the slack. 1 of those "pipes" is located in the building next to mine. I have a fiber optic line running directly from the pipe to the closet in my office. From that closet there is a gigabit switch and cat 6 throughout my office.
today connectivity
