GTX 470 or 560 Ti
So I've come to the realization that my single 470 just isn't enough for me. I'm getting a teady 40-50 fps running BF3 on medium settings. I would definitely like to improve on that. I've done some research into getting another card for an SLI config, but I'm not sure whether I should get another 470 or grab a 560 since they're a little cheaper (I've read a few articles that say you can SLI different video cards now). Anyone have any advice/info on this?

I got this card: Newegg.com - MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card. I havn't run it as I havnt built my machine completely yet but in the next couple of days I'll edit and see how it does. Its a good value and the 2gb of VRAM will help until I get the second card.

I have not seen anywhere that you can SLI two different card types for SLI. You can for Crossfire, for sure, but not for SLI. Search around on Ebay for a GTX 470. I am seeing ASUS, PNY, and EVGA cards go between $150-200.

The only bad thing about the 470s is that they run pretty hot. Make sure you have plenty of cooling in your case if you are gonna run two of them in SLI.

I can't find the article I was reading about it. I thought it was from my PC Gamer magazine, but I guess not. But I remember it saying that you do do some crazy shit like mixing an 8800 gtx with a 2800 ati card.
I have a Silverstone Fortress case, so I have plenty of cooling. My single card runs around 65C with the fan at 100% while playing BF3 and 45C at 40% while idle.
Do you think the prices will go down for black friday?Last edited by Hustle; 10-30-11 at 09:36 PM. Reason: Black Friday
