11-24-11, 10:43 AM #1Skyrocket!
So, my crackberry finally kicked it, so I went to get the Samsung Galaxy S2, however the lady at Best Buy who was helping me told me they just released a newer version called the Skyrocket. So, I got that. It's really freaking fast so far.
Questions:
1) Should I root?
2) If yes, how?
3) What apps are must haves?enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Yes root, don't know how for that phone sounds too new for a tried and true method..... give it a bit and it will be an option.
This will most likely work: shortfuse.org to root, if not right now then later when they update. You just need to find the usb driver for your phone and install that..... and enable USB debugging on your phone.
I recommend Cyanogen CyanogenMod | Android Community Rom based on Gingerbread for your operating system. Its straight android with more configuration options in the settings. It runs blisteringly fast and is the most up to date android version.
Must have apps: ASTRO, Chrome to Phone, Facebook, Gmail, Google+, Maps, Market, Music (google), Ringdroid, Twitter, Google Voice, Youtube
For the google apps, though you may already have them, make sure to download them from the market. That way you get the latest versions and updates when they come out.-- Intentionally Left Blank --

CyanogenMod 9 Ice Cream Sandwich is coming to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 | Android Community
"The CyanogenMod team has already begun work on CyanogenMod 9 (version 7 is Gingerbread, version 8 is Honeycomb, and probably won’t be made), with stable versions expected early next year."
There aren't any devices that are running icecream sandwich currently. The source code was released 10 days ago for everyone. Soooo.... give it a bit to have drivers updated for the devices. Third party roms will most likely get it running first for the devices they support. Device manufacturers take their sweet time.Last edited by rush2049; 11-24-11 at 04:10 PM.
