Thermal paste is really only meant to fill in the microscopic (one hopes) cracks and defects in the heatsink and plate on the CPU. Unless you plan on overclocking, you're probably fine with the intel one now that you have it fixed. Also, you don't always have to reinstall the OS if you move to a new MOBO. Ya i thought about all this and did a fresh install, Now my problem lies with i still cant boot from my windows 7drive unless my other drive with vista on it is plugged in, so im begining to wonder if my boot files somehow got copied over to the wrong drive...So ima do yet again ANOTHER fresh install but this time unplug all other drives then the main drive i want.

If it was plugged in when you installed 7 then yes it used the MBR off your vista drive instead of creating one on your Win 7 drive. It does this so it knows there are multiple operating systems and can ask which you would like to boot to.
