A matter of memory....

This will be a stupid question for some of you, but for me, not asking is stupid.

I have memory modules for my PC from two different manufacturers, G-Skill & OCZ.

I have the G-skill in my system now G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1200 (PC2 9600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-9600CL5D-4GBPI

I have 2 additional modules from OCZ that are: OCZ Flex XLC 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1200 (PC2 9600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2FX12002GK

Both sets use same voltage and can use same timings, the CAS Lat is 5 for both, they are just different Mfg. and capacities.

Question: Can I install them all into the same system without problems?

ic chips anyways work best when from the same mfg, and batch. most likey you could run what you have w/o issue, but dont be surpized if somthing goes bonkers.

Short answer: probably. Give it a go; if the system shows any signs of instability, go back to your current setup.

Is your OS 64 bit? If not, there's no point in adding RAM, as it won't be utilized anyway.

win 7 64 bit.

I did... no problems to report. Working just fine, so far.

as long as they are the same speed, timings etc it's usually fine. The only time I have seen issues is if someone has 2 sticks of a name brand and they buy 2 sticks of a cheap knockoff and try and mix and match. The cheap stuff typically can't keep up. You have name brand on both, you should be fine.
