Switching Sata III controllers

So, I had my drives on computer hooked up to the Marvell Sata III ports since they were the first ones. The problem is, that after a Windows update a week ago, my computer would start blue screening. Windows notified me that this is because of the Marvel drivers. Marvell has yet to release new compatible drivers...

So, would I be fine switching my drives over to the Intel ones? Would I need to reinstall anything or do something special?

You will be fine as long as it is running them in the same mode if they are SSDs (AHCI vs IDE mode). If they are HDDs... you are good to go.

Also assuming you aren't running any RAID modes. I have yet to see one controller manufacturer recognize an array from another.

Just running a HDD for storage/larger programs and a SSD for OS/games.

Make sure the drivers for both are loaded before you do it. Otherwise, Windows likes to bluescreen.

Now, my bios (Asus EFI) doesn't show the SSD in the bios to select the boot order. I can still boot from it if I navigate to it manually, but I can't do it automatically. Help?
