power supply question?
i was running a 750 watt psu in my pc and it burnt out i replaced it with a 600w from my other pc but the cables barely make it im sure its not stable because i had to stretch the wires slightly and run them in very unfavorable ways im looking to buy a new one and thinking of going sli with 2 gtx275s as i already have one and dont feel the need for a bigger upgrade well my question is how the heck can i tell how long the wires are gonna be while shopping online for a psu? i really dont wanna run my wires under my gfx card or in other awkward ways which i think are causing my bsods. its a large case i really just dont understand how you can tell how long the cables are.i dont see specifications for that anywhere.i mean youd think that would be kinda important if the cables cant reach wtf lol i was thinking going modular but even so i dont see specifications for length so how do i know would i be better off buying it off a shelf?

Re: power supply question?
I like Corsair PSU's, and I found this: Power Supply Cable Length FAQ - The Corsair Support Forums
I'm not sure how up to date it is, but it should give you some general ideas, at least. You could always buy extension cables for the particular PSU cables that are too short."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

Re: power supply question?
From what I've read, the Corsair's in general are very well built. I've been using OCZ's and have been pretty happy with them. Support was great also. The support guy actually offered to send me his personal extension cable if I couldn't get it to fit.

As for brand, I agree...go with Corsair.

Re: power supply question?
The TDP of a single 275 is roughly 185
GTX 275 TDP Question - [H]ard|Forum
2 should be roughly 370-ish. Assuming your CPU is say... A 125w like most of the 45nm CPUs or 95w of the 32nms. You should be looking at about a 650w just to be safe. That's saying if it's a good efficient one.
Cable length, most newer power supplies have long enough cables to route around the back for Cable management, shouldn't be too much trouble on finding cables.
As for a power supply, I disagree. Corsairs are good, but they defiantly cost too much. A TX650 V2 costs $95 that's that's $20 more than the Antec EA650 that performs roughly the same. All in all though, I'd recommend the Antec EA650.
Newegg.com - Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
Same efficiency as the TX650, great output, pretty solid on the rails.
Here's a review if you don't believe me.
Antec Earthwatts EA650 650W Review
JG (JonnyGuru) is one of the best PSU reviewers so according to him this PSU is REAL solid specially for the price.
If you feel 650w is too little (I think it's plenty though), A 750w is pretty solid bet too. I recommend this OCZ ZS 750, or the Enermax 750.

Newegg.com - ENERMAX NAXN 82+ ENM750AWT 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
The difference is the Enermax is modular. But the OCZ has rebate.
