Does your wife really need high-end 3D video though Scott? Most computer users don't need an uber graphics card, especially if all they are doing is MS Office and Web Browsing. If there's no need for a high-end 3D card, then there's no need for a high wattage PSU.

I still buy a high quality PSU. I have seen cheap PSU's fry HDD's when they blow in a few rigs; gaming or not.

Quality PSU's come in an array of wattages. Generally a high quality low wattage (3-400) PSU is still well more than 30 bucks. I am looking at a $129 400 watt for my media center for example. Still same guidelines: 80 plus (and in the case of lower wattage you can get gold and platinum ratings); single rail, trusted brand, good reviews, etc.

That being said I bet you can find a very good 3-400 watt PSU for 50ish with promos etc.

Just an update, I installed my new PSU. Everything seems fine, I'm running the two displays and I am installing BF3. I hope it goes ok.
