Which is the better value, or is there somewhere else I can get a better rig for cheaper?

That badass gaming rig is waaaaaaayyyyy overpriced. In fact, all of those look overpriced.

Thats what I thought, any ideas on how to get a good rig at a good price. Looking to spend around $700 give or take a couple hundred.

Edit: Don't necessarily need a monitor.

Also I was looking on craigslist because I assumed that I could get a way better rig if it were used. Turns out these geeks want full price for their crap.

Build one? It is always a good learning experience and is easy to do. I am sure there is a write up on how to do it on here somewhere. Then you can call it YOUR machine.

Yeah I don't think I would have any problem building 1 but I thought I could get more bang for my buck if I bought used

This is just me, but, I wouldn't buy used. You never know what they did to it. There is a reason they would be selling a newer system for cheap. I would just build my own. I just don't trust people with computers.

I built mine for around $1500. What kind of budget do you have in mind for a new rig? Is the $700 still the target even new?

17-2600K
8GB 1600 DDR3
2 x 6850 unlocked to 6870
2 x SSD's
I think I put a 750W or 800W in there.

You can get cheaper components as I got some expensive stuff. Might be able to build a system that will work for you for around $1000. Maybe less.

I would recommend:

Take out that cooler and put this in:

Then you should be set!
The 6850's are only 140$ each so the price should be around $950.
