Thread: The force command that works for everyone but me....

I have tried the bind, I have tried console, I have been told to use coma's, semi-colons, spaces.... What is the tested, proven, correct method for creating a bind in my autoexec.cfg (for all servers), and then launching the game successfully. If I follow the sticky it doesn't work. This is what I have tried:

bind "F8" "mm_dedicated_force_servers 184.173.90.90:27017; 184.173.90.90:27018; 184.173.90.90:27019; 184.173.90.90:27020"

and


bind "F8" "mm_dedicated_force_servers 184.173.90.90:27017,184.173.90.90:27018,184.173.90 .90:27019,184.173.90.90:27020"

I go to lobby as leader, select dedicated servers, hit F8, and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

I copied the exact bind from the Steam Group page and it works for me. Are you selecting "Official Dedicated"? That's what I use and it works. Press F8, then Start and it loads.

why not just select a TPG server from the steamgroups list when starting a game from lobby? If your in the steam group, should be able to see and select them?

That hasn't been working for any L4D2 player for a couple weeks now. Valve screwed something up.

I think you might need "connect" in front of the "mm" try it and see what happens...

THEN HIT START! Thank you Mr. Blonde. I just assumed that since it was a console command it would take off automatically. I figured that if I hit "start" it would just take me to a random server like it usually does.

To answer bunni: the bind is helpful, because for some, the servers don't always show up in their list.

I just tested it with bigtymer, works for me. Though, 'realizim vs'->steam group server does not work (does not show create lobby button).

Doesn't work for me and I know it doesn't work for others, that is why we have been having to use the "Force Commands".

idk if there's a connection, but ever since we started doing the spec slots, its not been working for some people. I used to have it work every time(except when there's a steam update), but now it only works some of the time.

It's not only TPG players. Majority of the players I play with can't access their servers through the Steam Group.
