create a character
I posted this back in Oct. and ppl didnt care much for it. I also posted a similar thread in a other fourm with lame responses towards it. Ppl bashed me at the fact I said the survivors had no story line to go along with the game and it wouldint matter much. Now look whats happening, no one wants to be Zoey and everyone wants to smash Zombie heads with Bill or Francis. And the characters have no storyline throughout the game. I was right. And it still sux that you cant create a guy or just even customize one of the existing survivors to look different.
"This is the only thing I find stupid about this game is that you cant create a character. It isint like the in game characters you get to choose from have some kind of story line to go with the location being played, its a few different scenarios. I dont know it annoys me that if I start a game that I might get screwed playing as the "rich b-tch teenage daughter" ohh that fun for a 22 year old male lol. And its not like it would be a problem making a guy when all the stats for the survivors are the same. It would be sooooo awesome if you where able to re-create yourself and put it in the game.
I really hope you can and Valve is just keeping it on the down low."

First off, the only difference between the characters is their 3D-model, textures and voice actor. Their "back-story" is completely irrelevant, and if something as minuscule as "Zoey is a rich b-tch teenage daughter" is preventing you from enjoying the game while playing as her character, you've got some issues.
Second, if you were allowed to create or modify characters, including new names and new faces, the dialogue system would no longer work (the chatter between characters frequently includes names) and neither would some artwork, such as the loading-screen movie posters, or the HUD character pictures during play.
Do you think before you post?
*edit* By the way, you're the first person I've heard of with bias towards or against any of the characters. In my experience so far (granted, only ~35h according to Steam), nobody's made any comment relating to wanting or not wanting to have a certain character. The only thing that springs to mind was someone making a joke about me having a hot ass while I was playing as Zoey and the other guy was crouched behind me.

I've got nothing against the main characters myself, but I'd love to be able to make me as a survivor. I actually started to learn modeling in hopes that I could make myself as a replacement for one of the survivors.

Okay, first things first - if you're sad enough to actually care which character you are beyond the minor tactical advantage of being Zoey (as in lonely teenagers who heal you praying that you're a girl that's turned on by in-game generosity), you need to go outside more. Threadstarter, your hostility towards a female character in-game is alarming, and if not seen to by a competent psychiatrist will probably result in you spending your later years chopping up hookers inbetween marathon self-pleasuring sessions.
Secondly, a 'create your own character' option would likely require a total rebuild of the game, which just isn't going to happen. There's another thread somewhere on here that states that all the models and stuff are held on the server, so anyone joining would have to download everyone else's character, and to be honest, I don't want to do that - I just want to play the game.
Thirdly, anyone who bought L4D hoping for some excellent Shakespearian storytelling needs their head checked. You want a good story, go play Mass Effect or Final Fantasy. L4D is an unashamedly balls-out blaster, and made no secrets about being so in the development.

Im sure if Valve put in a create a Character they wouldint allow big bird costumes or zombie like outfits.
And what the hell has the world come to where guys are fighting over on wanting to be a girl? Yeah thats great. For thouse ppl who like to be and want to play as a girl, I want you to do this. Get a time machine and go back in time to see your younger male self and tell him that when he gets older he's going to want to act and play as a girl over the internet. Then take a picture of his face of how dissaponted he is.
To late!!!:insane10:
